African Mining Consultants Ltd

African Mining Consultants Limited (AMC) is an exploration, mining, geotechnical and environmental engineering firm with offices in Kitwe, Zambia. The Company is also registered and has presence in Lubumbashi, DRC. The company was formed in 1994 by a group of engineers who had acquired extensive experience working for the Zambia Consolidated Copper Mines (ZCCM) and whose intention was to provide services to the mining industry on the Zambian and DRC Copperbelt, most especially to those mining companies which were newly moving into the area following the privatisation of the industry in both countries.  The company’s activities have since expanded into many other parts of Africa.
 

AMC has developed all-embracing expertise relating to open-pit and underground mining projects and exploration projects, particularly base metals and gold, and can now claim to be one of the most experienced mining and environmental consulting groups in Africa.
 

The company has more than 30 associate professionals with many years of diversified experience across Africa.  More recently, with the signing of an agency agreement with Kemira South Africa (Pty) Limited and the engagement of Dr Yotam Hara as a Senior Metallurgical Consultant, AMC has expanded its activities into the metallurgical processing field.  This has allowed the company to offer a full range of feasibility study expertise, supported as necessary by selected engineering companies to undertake detailed engineering and cost estimation.
